Thank you God
Its been a wee while since I’ve updated. A bit under a month! But seeing as all my students are on holiday I thought I would take this time and opportunity to reconnect with you guys my Supporters
Being honest to you guys out of the 5 S’s we have to the S of Supporters is one of the ones I struggle with the most. I think it really comes down to my organisational skill such as time management and really sitting down and communicating with you guys what’s been going on!
I do thank God for all of you that do read this and do continue to pray for me as I do Student Ministry In Auckland Uni. I do feel incredibly blessed that there are there are people who do get behind what I do on campus and are supportive in the journey of seeing me grow for Christ as I do some of his work. Please do continue to pray for me and for gods will and good news to reach the heart of students on campus
So in my last blog I mentioned a student approaching me to understand more of the bible with her. Well to follow up let me introduce her toy you guys. Her names Rachel! We have been going through the Gospel of mark together. It’s been a really exciting period especially for me seeing her struggle and wrestle with some of the bigger picture understanding of who Jesus is and coming back to me with more questions. Its been a delight to work with her but our meetings have become less regular as it is now exam period so just pray that she continues to seek and search and that God will continue to revel himself to her.
I have also been privilege to help lead an impact group at OCF – essentially a small group. We have been going through the book of Ephesians at the pace of roughly 1 chapter per week. It has been really good seeing students grow and challenge themselves with it. It was also great to have feedback for students saying that’s the first time the’ve finished or read Ephesians. Over the First Semester my co leader has been Rachel G. – Different Rachel yet for the next semester she has decided to step down for a bit. I thank god for her assistance and what she has done so far and pray that god continues to grow her and shape her to be a stronger leader for him. Next semester Ive had a student who is interested in stepping up to take on this leadership role. Let me introduce to you David Toh. I thank god for his willingness to step up, grow and challenge himself in his walk with god and in leading others with the growth of leadership.
All semester I’ve also been participating in a dance class every Thursday nights. Before I left for Minty 2 I was fortunate enough to have my first experience on stage as a dancer. It was exhilarating, brilliant and oh so much fun! If you do want to see the footage it is on youtube under :hopskotch musicality showcase. It was a joy to dance with many other students / people with such a great passion and enthusiasm for Dance. Really encouraged me to grow and to seek god in how I can honour him more and worship him more in this area.
I’ve also had been away at Minty 2 down in Hamner Springs. Oh what a joy it was for me to finally set foot on the south island. While I was there I had the joy of waking up to cold crisp air with the other minterns and staff. I was also fortunate enough to enjoy the pleasures of the hot pools there during our free time period. While we were there we looked at the Pslams and I learnt a new way of doing a quest time with god which was rather interesting. I was also challenged by Andy as to how I speak of the gospel and what scripture says about the gospel. Was challenging and I think it will be a continual thing to clearly try explain the gospel without distorting it from what it truly is. It wa also a great time of reflection and encouragement as we shared stories as to what god has been doing in our campuses and how and what we wanted to do in our minternship year.
I’ve also been privileged enough to be able to travel to Australia. As playing an role in church I’m part of the Video Notices Team. I was fortunate enough to have a friend to pay for half my fair to Australia so I could go film church notices for our one year anniversary. It was such a brilliant experience as we went ot Sydney. There we encounter many people with so much hospitality I was short for words. (they gave us a place to stay and even went out of their way to give us their car). I was also privilege to go to Hillsong Church while I was there. Something that God said to me about the experience is that this is still only a small part of the world and the Gospel has reached here but what about the rest of the world. This is something I am still praying about.
Personal story
Well just another thing encouraging id thought id share. I have a friend whom I’ve been friends with for about 10 years now. We’ve been thought a lot of highs and lows in our friendship and he’s been someone ive been praying for sine ive become a Christian. After 1.5 years of praying for him God has finally given me an opportunity and a gate way for me to help revel god to him in his heart. He had contacted me asking me about receiving a bible and wanting to know more about what I believe in order to better himself. Please pray that god will use me effectively to reach our to my dear friend Michael H.
Please pray for
Rachel – continual seeking of God and understanding of who Jesus is
Michael H – For God to revel himself to him, and to challenge this way of living in what he’s living for.
David – For god to help guide him in his step up to leadership
Finance – handle my money better and more wisely and for gods provision in finance
My study – Encouragement to sit down and Continue with my study and get back to my reading plan.
The other minterns /staff – as they continue to do gods work on campus that hearts be changed and Jesus revealed
Thankful for
David wanting to step up just as Rachel wanted to step down for leadership
Trip and experience to Australia and seeing god’s creation over the Ditch
The beauty of The south Island (Mainland apparently) and all it had to offer
Reflection time During Minty2 and the changes that I see in myself and the encouragement ive seen the gospel working in other places
Support so far that I have been receiving and that people do wanna get behind this Journey with me.
The gift and opportunity to dance and perform on stage

Minty Update!
Wow guys sorry it’s been so long since I’ve updated
just been so busy and wrapped up in Minty
First of all I would like to thank God for the work he’s doing on campus and in the lives of people. Its amazing seeing changes in people!
Secondly thank you all for getting behind me in my mission work on campus. It’s encouraging for me that people care about what I do and want to get behind me and the other staff team in TSCF to make changes in the lives of students. GO BODY OF CHRIST!
So what’s been happening?
I can’t quite remember what has happened since I’ve last posted so I’ll try do the last month or tow
well the student group I’m working with OVERSEAS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP had a camp called strengthen in ngawahia last month. Was awesome to see 70 + people there hanging out and bonding.
We got up to some crazy games such as fly chicken fly - this consists of a raw chicken as a ball in a similar game of netball except one person on your team is the hoop.
We had Pastor James Lai from Lighthouse Christian Fellowship from north Auckland stay with us over the camp. He spoke on the Armour of God from Ephesians 6.
One of the high lights of camp was the 3rd day. Pastor James Lai was praying over people and anointing them with water from the Jordan River. It was an amazing experience as you saw students around you break down and let Jesus break down some of r the walls on the inside.
Overall the camp went really well as the title suggested strengthen; the people who came were more united as a body and a group for Christ :)
I’ve also had the privileged to lead the impact group training session. Impact group is small groups created in OCF and we are going through the book of Ephesians as a bible study. I managed to lead theses leaders in understanding more about Ephesians 3 and in Pauls prayer for the students to make Christ feel more at home in their hearts.
Study for me has been rather hard but enjoyable. Lately I’ve been diving more and more into the wisdom that is of Wayne Grudem. Last month I had done an assignment on the trinity. If you guys want to see it feels free to ask me about it. Rather interested that not once is the word trinity mentioned in the bible! J
Lately I’ve been struggling with god’s sovereignty as Grudem advocates a case for Calvinism. After wrestling about it for a few weeks I’ve come to the conclusion that neither is right of wrong. I was reminded of this in 1 Corinthians 1 :12 when it says 12What I mean is this: One of you says, "I follow Paul"; another, "I follow Apollo’s"; another, "I follow Cephasa]">[a]"; still another, "I follow Christ."
I came to realise the more I try find out more about arminianism and Calvinism the more I’m drawing away from Jesus. I’m a follower of Jesus! J Also realised that theologians have been arguing about this for centuries so I don’t think a lil intern will find the answer to it.
Lately I’ve been seeing students wanting to step up to leadership! What a blessing it is for us to have such a vast amount of willing people who want to do more to help spread the word and glorify Christ! This really showed in the leaders training day as we staff modelled what it was like to be a hospitable group to students coming int. we had the attendance of 6 groups at the leaders training with potential leaders! Ben spoke from the book of Philippians and what it means to be gospel shaped and gospel centred. He also challenged us to share the gospel in 160 characters. Can you do it?
Lately I’ve been working with a student who’s really been seeking who god is. It’s been amazing seeing them wrestle with who Jesus is as they ask more questions about him and find out more about him. This person came to me not really knowing much about god, just that he answers prayers and had been reading passage from Psalms, Ephesians and even Romans but not really understanding what they were reading. I am now trying to get them to stick to reading the gospel of Mark. The shortest gospel in the bible to help give them some understanding of who Jesus is and I’m also texting them some questions to think about as we go through it together. J
Thank god for
· The stepping up of leaders and people
· My financial provision and support so far
· Students wanting to make a change
· The strengthen camp as it ran smoothly
· The effectiveness and the impact of leaders training day
Please pray for
· Students to change themselves as they wrestle with what it means to be gospel centred and shaped
· Minty 2 in 2 weeks away
· The OCF committee as they try make change and find replacements for the next AGM
· God to continue to shape and change lives on campus
Sorry it was such a rushed update will try update after minty 2 properly
thank you all for your support
god bless

Minty Update for Feb to march!
wow it’s been a while since I’ve blogged or updated as to how Minty is going for me
so when I last left off I was worried about MINTY 1.
Well how was it you ask?
Minty 1Minty 1 was awesome. Started of minty at welly with just some bonding time with the other Minterns for breakfast talking about practical jokes and illegal number plates! We then later on proceeded to the kaptiti coast of Ruamati, 10 mins from paraparaumu shopping centre at this awesome as Bach! At the Bach while we were staying there for the 5 days it consisted of the 4 Minterns and Andy Shudal, Tim Hodge and Gina Wong. There were also other staff workers and ex Minterns that appeared throughout the week. While at minty 1 it definitely helped prepare me for the things to come for this year with scripture and study. I got loaded up with a pile of books including Wayne Grudem which is massively thick! We looked at topics such as leading bible studies, our faith at the workplace, working with students, and our supervision and support raising and lastly out study.
Once I’ve gotten back it was just 3 weeks of orientation ahead of me.I did a first few days at MIT where they had a really good orientation. All the students came out to their quad and just chilled while watching the performances. It gave a good opportunity to give out flyers and interact with some people.
After the first week I managed to get away for a few days with the OCF leaders or committee to get to know them hang with them and find out more about OCF. Was just a day trip but was awesome as time away.

The next two weeks I was placed at Auckland Uni. First week was called Pre O week and I felt that it was really awesome. It started with 9.30 starts I think and finished roughly around 2 each day. There were days where it rained and where we felt discouraged but we ploughed on. I remember meeting certain people such as an atheist just looking for a general chat and some girls doing nursing. I found that week rather encouraging because although there want so many people there a lot of the people stopped to see what you were about. We were also shorted staffed a bit for the stand because OCF had decided to commit to running a lantern festival stall which was that weekend so they were all busy away prepping for that.

The next week after lantern fest there was an abundance of helpers which was awesome as to see. I felt really encouraged to see lots of people there wanting to help. I even had a chance to make new friends with the stalls next to us. I was especially encouraged by the KYCF group. Man those students are on fire for their group. I constantly saw them reaching out to someone, talking in their own native tongue and got tones of sign ups.

That weds we had the welcome party and boy there was a bunch of people there. I think someone counted at least 75 new students there which are encouraging to see. On the night we had praise and worship from KYCF members leading the band, and then Jeff and Jane explain about TSCF and have the president’s talk about their groups. Afterwards it was a mix and mingles time with food and drinks. We ended up going through 50 pizzas. Man Demolished!
That Friday was OCF’s first Friday meeting for the year. There were plenty of new faces and was just a great time to hang out and to get to know everybody. We played a few ice breaker games led by Juin and Chester. Extremely funny as we got into 4 groups and got to know everyone’s name by calling out another persons name in our group before we got hit by the person in the middle with some rolled up paper. Also had a game or Chinese whispers mixed with charades. Extremely funny. All in all most of us had a great time and went to food alley after for further bonding over food. YUM!
Then over last week and a bit there’s been a few events going on. One was has science disproved god and Christianity on trial. They were both really good to attend to and great to see so many students and members of the general public just interested about god and their disciplines and how it can affect their jobs and friends. I also managed to have my first one on one with a guy called warren. awesome guy and told me the tragic story of the 2004 tsunami floods in shirlanka how it happened right before his eyes. Hope I get to see more of him though out the semester as he is very busy with his mechanical engineering degree at AUT.
Recently ive just been studying hard through Grudem and the bible, however have been falling behind on my bible study reading plan each day but I’m hoping I can catch up on my next day off. Also been encouraging diving and looking into Ephesians as I’m leading a bible study group or impact group on Tuesdays with Rachel Guo for OCF. It’s an interesting experience as I’ve never lead such a big group before.
Thank god for:
The awesome out reach that has happened so far
The commitment of students wanting to share god’s word
The time and the words spoken through scripture during my minty training
The opportunity to be able to lead bible study and get more involved with student Ministry.
Please pray for:
the willingness and burning desire to catch up on my bible readings and through Grudem
Knowledge and understanding of my studies
The students signed up for the new groups to feel at home and be committed to the groups and impacted in their student lives
The wisdom for leading bible study groups.
Anyways I better go and catch up on reading. Chow!

While in Raumati well be encouraged and diving deeper into gods word. hopefully not just diving but submerged and engulfed and overwhelmed by it i hope.
So far my biggest worries of this year is to raise support and funds. ive worked out i need about 3800 to get by this year which includes all my cost for travel and conferences that i have to attend to. My second biggest worry is prepping for the bible study that will take place at Minty 1. I have been Blessed with John 7 which i dont quite understand myself yet am leading others into INCLUDING STAFF!!
Its funny however, with all my worries i think i know in my heart ill be alright woo!! praise Jesus.

WOW GOD!!!
i start of by last week Friday.
Friday is the day we normally do our prayer walk and Joanne Li was leading. It was different this time because she felt like she was being called to Kent st. we had no idea whee this place was so went to look it up and found out its in new market. when we had all decided to go and gather there we found this building Joanne had in her vision. stuck out like a sore thumb from the business district it was in. it was a pretty unorganised prayer walk this time as people were feeling disjointed to this building and ill be honest it was a cold and miserable night. most of us had prayer over this building and some of us touched it but weird things started to happen later in the night. Lee started getting sick but he was wearing adequate clothing. i felt a chill in my heart when i placed my hand on the building to pray for it. also later that evening pearl was praying in tongues and started freaking out as she had felt a evil spirit in the area draw even closer and closer to us and was told we had to go. later that night mike was unprepared for what was going to happen as he had a spiritual attack and broke down. he had felt like his heart had been ripped out and lost a lot of his connection with god. i know from this experience that god is real! the spiritual world is real and there is mass spiritual warfare going on. to not choose a side is choosing a side. i wanna be on the right side that is with god. i also learnt from this experience to ensure my foundations with god is secure and rock solid because if there is any waver in my faith i know that's when Satan will attack me.
weds
on weds i had decided to take up my cross that day and take up mikes advice and listen and talk to god and be honest with him and let him know how i felt. this really let me be free and felt like the burden of trying to live a life holy for the lord was just a act of the law and i was kidding myself. in fact that i should be doing it for love instead of duty which is what i have been doing. i only did pray that my love for him would grow as i gotten to know him more. :) i then decided to read Galatians 3 and wow did Paul's letter hit home. it was pretty much just everything i was praying about and i had felt as if god had spoken to me saying "son don't be foolish i love you for who you are, i have given you my love and because i love you so much i forgive you with my grace" wow such an undeserving gift but reminded me GOD IS GOOD. However i did have to go to uni that night and normally that wouldn't be a problem except that i had to read photography books as part of the class activity. we had access to the library and flicking through some of the books a lot of it showed a lot of male and female nudity. i even came across a pornographic photography one. it disturbed me a lot as i had felt i had gotten my relationship with Jesus a lot stronger that day and i had to see that. i felt so sinful just my eyes being tainted by the images. i also felt like i needed to pray for the campus and photographers as that's what some people get into and it shows how away from god some people are. it really did question why i wanted to be a photographer if i maybe be exposed to things like this.
Thursday
today i woke up with some unfortunate event of my grand dad having a stroke. i rushed to my aunties to find granddad on the ground with paramedics around. i found that my granddad had gone to the loo that day and found blood coming out from when he "dropped the kids off". He then went to sit in the living room and feeling faint he collapsed of the chair and had not enough energy to get back up. It was weird because on the way there i had felt calm and just secure enough to know that MY LORD is sovereign and in con troll of all this. felt amazing knowing that and gave me a sense of peace no matter what would happen however i did feel this urgency as my grand dad did not really know who Christ Jesus is. IO had been asked by the paramedics to go to the hospital with them in the ambulance and so i grabbed my bible and did. poor granddad was constipated and had to have 3 rectum examinations. all 3 didn't sound good. however i was there and i had brought the word with me to ensure that i keep in touch with god. i read numbers 27 and that passage just really spoke to me as that god doesn't pass one persons sin from one person to another. its not like karma. god loves each one of us and will give accordingly and from that i learnt even More of gods sovereignty and love and just let me put my trust in my lord more. i also read proverbs 14.5 "A truthful witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies." This kinda spoke to me and questioned me what sort of witness am i?
also while at the hospital i was attracted to all the nurses there. not physically (well some were good looking but that's not what i mean) but my heart went for them as they were here serving people and looking and caring for people. wow it really touched me and thought its amazing how people can really care even if its just a job. i also had my little cousin Andrew identify me with my bible. he started asking questions about who Satan was and i ended up telling him the story of Adam and eve. he was astonished to find out about Satan the serpent and the apple of knowledge and that eve ate it first. what really encourage me is that he was asking about it so much with his curious mind. He even asked "do you think this is better than what we believe in"(We being the rest of my family) and i replied "yes i believe so".
wow its just a long journey with god and there's so much more i wanna find out about him
hopefully i can post More about him up on here.
until next time
chow.

recapping
well over the holidays Ive been at NRC in willow park. its been an awesome as experience meeting many people of the same faith and just growing in the word of Jesus.
We had Nigel Pollock who is head of tscf come speak to us about "the average Joe". this story is re voled around young Joseph in the old test. it was very inspiring as we went through the story of his life and how he reflected on his actions. it really challenged me as to how i reflect my actions onto others such as
- am i humble to others?
- If i have the chance to be merciful, will i and give them grace?
- how does god work through my life?
- do i give 100% in what ever i do thus glorifying god?
- do i twit or show that im a christian?
- am i afraid of the gospel that i love?
- is what i listen to coherent with what i believe?
During this camp we also had Andy Shuddle come talk to us about sexuality. it was just as impacting as much as the first time i read all these things in a book called every young mans battle. we talked about
- sex
- masturbation
- pornography
- homosexuality
these are all important issues that needs to be addressed in every Christian. We all go through the same challenges as every human yet sometimes we just cave into sin. Sex is a very strong topic discussed and i had learnt "YES" GOD does want us to have sex, but with the right person and after marriage. Personally myself im very sexually active which im trying to become more dormant about and to me this is really hard for me as a male to control sometimes. so it challenges me to be more pure for god.
Masturbation is typically well common now days as sex is very now accepted by modern society. my question to you is "Do YOU need to masturbate and if so why?" Sure being celibate is hard and sure masturbation can give you that quick release that you crave but is it actually doing you any good in your relationship with god? just remember he's watch us as we do everything and including this. Masturbation is just a way of pleasuring ourselves for that quick release and that small closer and closeness of intimacy that we temporary get. truth is its only temporary and is completely different from what sex and the real intimacy with a loving partner provides.
Pornography is mostly accepted in society today as well. I guess this is due to More music video clips becoming more reveling and with the fashion industry changing their tastes to become more raunchier and more hormone lead for the younger teen viewers who look up to these idols. its so inter grated into society that it has now been accepted by every young man or women, that they maybe able to be picked up at a park or have the pizza boy/ girl come onto you. Does this disturb you that people believe fantasies as such can come true? Its because the sin in pornogrpahy allows you to fantasies about any girl you want to do any action you want to you. Do you know that people get addicted to this stuff? people who surf the web just for their ideal dream girl or just to see females naked and guess what? this is a common problem as well. people get trapped in this vicious cycle of sin and they find themselves drawing further and further away from god. it's also bad because people end up idolising these people who get to have sex with all these women. just think about what your future wife will say? does that convict you if she knew you were having sex with all these people?
Homosexuality is a hard topic to talk about. this is pretty hard for me as my brother is bisexual. If you think of it logically god made males and females to complement each other. we have penises that fit into the females vagina which helps us reproduce and make earth plentiful. homosexuality defiles this as you aren't able to give birth as god did not put that system into our male bodies and also god made us man and women for a reason.
from camp i surely did learn alot and it did leave me questioning myself what do i do for god and how do i glorify him in everything i do?

Getting back on track
Its been exactly a week today since ive last blogged so there's a lot to offload of my chest.
So last week i went to my first proper AutCF bible study for the year. it took a while for the group to properly get back into it but it was really good. we read up on Galatians1:1-10. I lent from that study that we should be have our hearts ion the right place. for follow god at all times no matter what. to me it was really important as the last sentence spoke, do you choose to please god or man? i really reflected on that as ive recently been noticing that ive always been different. im weird and i don't really get along with the "crowd". i have my own way of doing things however since my teen years ive disregarded my ways and given into peer pressure to do what society and friends have been telling me to do. ive kinda not been my own person in a while and ive been doing things to impress them. but now as a Christian i should really focus myself towards god instead of people, because this is what it means to live a godly life. another thing from this study that spoke to me was when Paul had written if there is anyone spreading another gospel other than the one you've already accepted . let them be eternally condemned. and that includes angels!!! wow the word condemned is really powerful. but what does it really mean? a life in hell i guess but when you really sit down and think about it a life without god or not being in heaven in god in the afterlife. that would be hell. this passage also reminded me of Muslims. just as they accept the book oh Joseph smith as part of the bible however it its a new gospel all together if you do include that book. Christ Jesus is our Saviour and i wish that everyone could just know him and accept him. another thing that struck me that day was the attractiveness of Christian females. Sueanne my partner whom ive had a relationship with for 4 years spoke up at this bible study and was really into the word of god. she had vast amounts of knowledge on the subjects of Galatians as she had done some reading beforehand and for some reason this had really inspired me and attracted me towards her. normally this would cause the opposite effect but there is something attractive about knowing the word and knowing the lord that sets you aside from everyone else. just thought id like to share that with you.
ON weds i had a bible study with the engineering group. we did a psalm but i cant remember which one. David wrote about how people were telling him that he wasn't saved and that he was afraid. also that night he rested also symbolizing revitalization through the lord. i found it really interesting as he wrote men said he was not saved but he rebuked in the end saying salvation is of the lord. just reminded me once again, not to do things through myself but through the lord. also not to be afraid as in the psalm David prays for the lord to take control and it just reminded me of the lords rule power and sovereignty.
Thursday i had met up with Cara and heather from TSCF to meet about MSVA and to start a Christian group there. its new and we still kind of need direction as to where to go. in the end the girls wanted to make it more pure evangelical and have more out reach then to have foundation and structure such as bible studies for internal growth. i think a bit of both will not be so bad but i'm hoping when we do do bible studies i maybe able to play some leadership role. i was also asked to share my testimony within the group. i'm not sure how powerful it was but it was good to remind myself of my journey here so far for Christ. also i have a confession i have to make. while i was telling my testimony and listening and sharing i was staring at Cara. she had a low cut top and my eye could not help but wonder over to her breast. i regret its a sinful action i have done and feel like i should have been slapped by both Cara and Sueanne. its something i feel like i can share here with you lord and i hope that u forgive me for my sins.
clutch also then asked if i wanted to meet up with Colin after which i agreed to. he had told me so much of how much this man had given up to follow the lord on this journey so i had figured if it will light me on fire then there is no reason to deny him or not see him if i have the spare time. when i arrived i had recognized his face from orientation and though wow so this is him... again. we spoke of his day of how he had failed his driving test and how god has a plan for all of us. the main message i got from the talk with him was just to trust in god no matter what we do. don't do things on our own because that not gods way but to rely on him because he wants us to rely on him. it made me realize that sometimes i do try to do things myself when i should be trying to honoring god at all times and rely on him. he really woke me up with this meeting making realize nothing is in my control for god controls all. :) and knowing that im at peace with because i know god is righteous.
on friday i had been stuck at work and i had managed to sneek away the word today into my rides. it was a real encouragement for me to read and reflect upon what the word is tellign me and how it can relate it to everday events. it was really good to catch up on the few weeks i had missed out on reading the word for the day as i had been busy or often i had neglected reading the word with god. made me realize i should do it more. i had also had a great conversation with a co worker called chakan. her background is mormon but she doesn't follow it closely. to be frank she lives for herself and as i got know what she believes in i was also once reminded of the passage in Galatians 1:8. i was hoping to shower her that Jesus was all of mankind's salvation however she did not completely agree. however having the ability to talk and spread the word more did encourage me a lot more to be slightly more radical and speak out more.
later that night i had a friends 21st. his name is Stan and he is rather good friend of mine from university. we had drank that night and unfortunately i had drank a bit too much and would have probably set a bad example for the others. i also peer pressured him into drinking a mixture of alcohol's which did get him intoxicated rather fast and left him coma toasted in bed for a while. i now am reminded of the passage or verse that speaks do not get involved with idol slander drunkenness and adultery.
Saturday i woken with a hang over from my mistake of drinking far too much the night before. i regret it as drinking is not forbidden by god but what glory does it bring god if i am in a drunken state and i cannot control my tounge? my tounge is like a window to my soul as it speaks out the truth of who i am. if i am drunk then how may i control my thoughts rationally as to what i really believe?. that day i had spoken with a good friend called Mellisa. she had introduced me to Life church when i was stuck looking for a place to worship learn and grow more in god. we had spoke of manifestation and she had told me she had seen it before. it surprised me as to how common it was and how they overcame it through Jesus. it made me reflect as to how i felt at SLC when i was confronted with singing and prayer. was that the holy spirit working through me or was i manifesting? i wasn't sure. it did also let me reflect as to how powerful Jesus's and god the father's sovereignty is. its amazing. i ended up taking my book every young mans battle to my ride and learnt a lot from it even though i have only read 1/3 of the book. to reflect i want to be a man that lives an undivided life for Christ as in the book it spoke of a pasta living a divided life from his Christian life and man life. i don't want to be a pretender as thats not what will glorify god. doing his work will. also i had learnt that sex before marriage ruins a relationship between man and the lord as it makes it harder for men to connect with god as we are overcome with guilt and fear. we also feel undeserving because of it. when i reflect on this and i say its true to every point. sex is a pleasure given by god and so it should be embraced when we are united from 2-1. i also learnt that sex is just sex. it does not make it any more exciting in the marriage life if u continue to have sex before and also if you decided to have sex before then what great will it do you if that person is not the right person for you. you haven't glorified god in doing that. so it really did teach me a few things with my sexual temptation and being honest, it is something i struggle with a lot as its on my mind most the time. i did feel blessed though to have materials such as these that i could look upon and read and learn form as to how i could grow in Christ. its just awesome. i also had a 21st party later that night for Sophie and rah. my gods gifting i was blessed to have such an awesome camera and a great pair of eyes for capturing some good moments at this 21st. i had learnt about the difficulties the family had gone through while growing up and i hard learnt of Sophies amazing struggle and illness that she battles. its inspiring to see even though it all both the girls care deeply for each other and remain soo strong to the word of god. i wish i had such a relationship with the lord. they are a blessing to have been in my life.
anyways i will continue on tomorrow as it late. bye diary.
well im back now with some free time and even more to update on its been an extra week since then.
well that Friday night i had a 21st to go to. this was a freind from uni and i had known him fro a few years and i had initally gone there just to give him my greetings and allow my presences to be there. however i did let my gaurd drop and i did manage to encourgae my sellf to keep drinking.even to the point when i known the next drink would have put me over the top yet i still kept going. i even was encouraging my freind to drik his spiked drink which was mixed with almost every acoholoic drink in sight. honestly how did my actions that night reflect god.. .at all? it didnt and so i was challenged by my own actions in how i portray god in my life and how i bear witness to others.
at church i hard lernt of the story of jericho and joshua. what a heroic story. what i did learn from it was to always invole god in all my actions. also to listen to him as he has a plan for us and not to do everything from our own power as i liek to do most the time.
on monday as usual i helped set up milo monday and as usual it was great giving out to students from aut. i really hope one day im able to do this for other students accross other campuses. its just inpired me as to how much i really wanna do staffwork. that evening we had dinner at michael drake's. an very insightful chap who is part of the chaplincy at mit and also associate staff from tscf. at his palce we ate and drank(fizzy) and converesed. we read a bit from the bible and discussed how we could change mit to have more direction and more growth.
it was great as this was the first time this group had ever done anyhting like this at all.

Its the little things that count
Heavenly father. i thank you for all the gifts you've given me. all the love and compassion you've shown towards me. for opening up doors giving me the greatest of friends and showing me the true light of this world which is in you. father i just want to be with you. your so amazing and you make all things real. miracles and the impossibles are no longer out of reach because through you all can be done. Lord i pray for courage lord to do your will today. that you speak to me in ways that i can see how you affect my life and others. lord i pray for the holy spirit, that you send him upon me and incinerate every trace of sin in me. father i want to be pure of heart and i want to do your will. lord will you welcome me with open arms once again and take me up as a son as a disciple as a follower of you lord Jesus. i want to make you my king and what ever your will is i want to do. father i pray for my friends and family that don't know you lord. i love them and i know the time is near when you will arise lord. please give them the chance to get to know you.; please send the holy spirit to burn in me to over flow in me with love for you so i can stand witness to them as to what you have done in me. lord please open their hearts and soften them, open their minds to you their eyes to you their ears to you so they can hear you see you and feel your calling for them. lord if it is in you will i pray that you work through me for your work to be done. i pray that you give me courage to stand strong in your word and lord i pray that you send the holy spirit to me to help me fight of my natural sinful nature so that i may become more like you. my glorious king. lord i pray for all these things so i may grow in you and be strong in you so i may be able to share the good news with everyone i meet. in your glorious name i pray. Amen.
i spent most my day today with Jermey an d actually found him to be a great inspiration to me. it was just the little things he does such as inviting friends around to include him in things. pursuing in knowledge to grow and just knowing that there is always room for us to grow in the lord. he also showed me how much of a Christian he really is with his big heart. i think it maybe a gifting of his as he was able to give and lend to total strangers he had never met at pick a part today. that was truly inspiring to me as i would not be able to do that myself. he even lent hand to a total stranger to get a car part out. if this is what it means to be doing your work lord i know i fall short in so many ways. i thank you lord for such a great friend and such a great lesson i learn from him lord.
i also ended up having a really good talk with Sueanne today. we opened up and talked about the issues around us. our friends and our visions and what we sort of want to see happen. its great to know that the lords working in her because she really inspires me to do more of your work lord. she has such a talented mind and is so organized and so relational lord. i only pray that she grows in you and i guess so that i don't lose this wonderful gifting you have given me. shes amazing. shes exhausted herself from doing your work today lord and it jsut shows to me how much energy and how much and how far she is willing to go for you. its so encouraging and motivating to me to see that from her. thank you father for her.
i also got to see mike once again and do another bible study. we didn't end up finishing the notes he went through in conference lord but we did end up going through the book of James and finished chapter one. i was astonished as to how much of this passage applied to me. I'm like the man in the mirror when i read your lord word it comes through one ear and out the other sometimes. i should really be applying your word to myself and i don't do that sometimes lord. please forgive me. i also learned that i should apply to myself that i should be quicker to listen to ideas thoughts and other people and really open my ears to hear you calling to me. i should be slow to judge and slow to speak and thus slow to get angry. if i am angry what good does that do in your name if others see me in that state. no good and so lord i thank you for the message you are telling me. i should be more like you and forgive them. i also learn't that my touch is a sharp as a double edge sword and that i should be careful in what i say or speak. what good or glory does it give you if i curse around others and shout profanities? none my lord so in this i will try to apply to myself but i need your help of the holy spirit to do so and to help guide me. you came down for the poor and not the rice lord and in James it also talks of us helping orphans and widows. lord i hope you make this clearer to me as i don't quite understand this passage. i also tried to do your work today in speaking to another skater tonight. too bad he left before i could settle myself in to talk to him about who you were lord. i only hope that he has herd your name and that he knows of who you are. Lord i also have come to realize that your name is knowing world wide. some people use your name in vain but yet lord under that circumstance your name i still spoken and shared in the world. father you are amazing in how you have highly exalted your son Christ Jesus.
i am also inspired by these few words spoken by mike. "LETS SAVE THE WORLD"
father i pray as i end for the evening that you energizes me for the days that is to come. As hard work and concentration maybe involved lord i hope that i still am able to keep you in mind and that you watch over me always. i pray that today as i reflect back if there is anything that i have said or have done that is not of you lord i pray that you forgive me and wash away my sin. father i thank you so much for the lord Jesus that you have sent to earth upon from heavens. for you to love us as far to have your son do your will and having him die on the cross for our sins so that we may remain in you. lord you are amazing. i thank you with all my heart. holy spirit i pray that you work within me to be more like Jesus and to be able to take upon more lessons and to be able to grow in you lord each and every single day. i pray that you help me with my natural sinful nature and that i will be able to hear your call for me to do you work. father i pray whatever i do lord i boast it all not in my own name as human praise will do me no good. lord i pray all glory will go to you and in you name i pray. Amen.
